Managing Your FTP History
Keep your FTP history accurate so that past rides are analyzed with the right threshold values.
Last updated: Jun 2026

Your FTP changes over time as your fitness evolves — rising during build phases, settling during maintenance, and dipping during rest or time off. FormBeat keeps a history of your FTP values so that when you look back at old rides, they're analyzed with the FTP that was actually valid at the time.
Why history matters
Imagine your FTP was 220W last January and it's 250W now. A ride from last January where you pushed 215W normalized was a hard threshold effort back then — but if we used today's FTP, it would look like a moderate tempo ride. Historical FTP tracking keeps your metrics honest.
Adding and updating values
Go to Settings > Power to manage your FTP history. You can add new values with effective dates, edit existing entries, or delete incorrect ones. When you make changes, FormBeat automatically reanalyzes affected rides — so your metrics always reflect reality.
